Go Blue Flame! Getting ready to tee off for the final round at state championships!

Congratulations to our Female and Male Scholar-Athletes of the Month: Ava Bradberry and Josue Mejia-Avila. Josue is a member of the Varsity Football team and Ava is a member of the Varsity Cheer team. This month’s Scholar-Athlete awards are sponsored by the Nu chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, an international honorary organization for female educators that promotes educational excellence, altruism, and world understanding through fellowship. Each year, the chapter provides a $1000 scholarship to a PHS senior female planning to pursue a career in teaching. The month of October is set aside by the organization as “ADK Month,” and the chapter is sponsoring our October awards in honor of this. PHS faculty members who are part of the Nu chapter are Dr. Ashley Butler, Mrs. Madison Hammond, Mrs. Tina Hudgens, Mrs. Betsy Kelley, Mrs. Brittany Kelley, and Dr. Rhonda Watson. Student-athletes were recommended by their teachers, and a committee reviewed the nominations to determine this month's recipients. We are proud of our student-athletes for demonstrating excellence in the classroom! #goblueflame
