Dr. Butler and Mrs. Rafferty’s English 4 classes have been working on a career project this quarter. Recently, their classes attended the Mad City Money presentation that Mrs. Hannah Smith coordinated and had the students work through a budgeting activity. They also encouraged students to participate in the College Application Day offered by Mrs. Cudd. The classes also had two guests speakers as part of their project: Staff Sergeant Benjamin Andela and Sergeant Dawson Jahn, who shared information about the opportunities available with the Marines and National Guard, respectively. This week, the students will continue to explore different careers, create a resume, discuss interview etiquette, and think about their college and career-ready skills gleaned from coursework at PHS as part of their project.
