PreACT
PreACT School Day Administration:
Parents of second year (10th grade) students; PHS will be offering the PreACT assessment at no charge on Wednesday, March 11.  PreACT is a pre-cursor to the ACT college entrance assessment.  This is a great opportunity for students to gain experience with this type of assessment.  Students will receive their scores, however the scores will not affect their grades or academic progress at PHS in any way.  Second year students will be called to their testing room shortly after school begins on that Wednesday, to take the PreACT.   Students should have 2 no. 2 pencils (not mechanical) and a calculator.  The test will take about 2 and 1/2 hours.  Students will return to their regular schedules as the testing concludes.  Students will be excused from their classes that morning, but will still be responsible for making up any missed assignments.  Students have been encouraged to see or email Mrs. Corn if they have any further questions.  Remember the night before to encourage your student to get plenty of rest, so that they may do their best on the test!

PreACT FAQs:
Q: Does my student have to sign up to take the PreACT?
A:  No, the PreACT will be offered to all second year PHS students.

Q:  What if my student goes to the Career Center?
A:  Morning Career Center students will report to the PHS cafeteria at 8:20 to take the PreACT, and will be excused from their Career Center classes.  Afternoon Career Center students will attend as regularly scheduled, as testing will be over at that point.

Q:  Does this test effect my student's grades?
A:  The PreACT is much like a practice administration of the ACT that in no way effects your student's grades or academics at PHS.

PHS wishes you best of luck on the PreACT!
